AGI praises ‘Minister for Education’ for promoting STEM education

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has commended Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum for his efforts to promote STEM education in the country.

At the 2nd edition of the STEM Promotion Roadshow, AGI CEO Seth Twum Akwaboah said STEM education is essential for equipping the nation’s youth with the skills they need to compete in the global economy. He pledged AGI’s support for the Ministry of Education’s STEM education initiatives.

Dr Adutwum said his passion for STEM education is driven by the impact it has had in other countries in transforming their economies. He appealed to students, parents, and society to encourage children to develop an interest in STEM education.

Dr Adutwum also announced plans to introduce aviation and aerospace programs in 12 Senior High Schools next academic year. He said this is a strategic move to equip Ghanaian students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the ever-evolving world of STEM disciplines.

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah also emphasized the importance of STEM education for Ghana’s development. He said the government is investing in STEM education to build a pool of professionals who can produce and service the things we use in our daily lives.

Overall, the AGI and the government are committed to promoting STEM education in Ghana. They believe STEM education is essential for equipping the nation’s youth with the skills they need to compete in the global economy and drive Ghana’s development.
